Dermal fillers
Throughout the aging process, the skin loses hyaluronic acid, this is a product in the skin that supports skin structure. When this is lost, the skin loses hydration and wrinkles develop and deepen through time. Restylane and Juvaderm have hyaluronic acid in a clear gel base and when placed beneath the skin, it returns a more natural texture to the skin surface. Because this product is non-animal based and a naturally occurring product of the skin, there is little possibility of an allergic response. The process requires an injection to block discomfort in the area to be injected.

We provide smoothing of the naso-labial folds (the grooves between the nose and lip corners),  scar reduction of the face, better lip definition and increased body to the lips. Side effects may include swelling, minor pain, itching at the injection site, transient redness for a period of 2-3 days.

The benefit will last 6 to 12 months. Eventually the hyaluronic acid will absorbed into the skin.

Botox
Over time, the skin of the face is affected by the muscles of expression. Repetitive muscle action and skin aging create the active wrinkles that collect between and around the eyes, nose, mouth, chin and over the forehead.
Botox is a purified protein that is used to temporarily paralyze small muscles of the face, allowing the active wrinkles of the face to disappear. This has the effect of eliminating  worry lines (forehead), anger lines (between eyes), crow’s feet (sides of eyes), and bunny lines (sides of nose). We avoid changing the major muscles used with smiling and raising eyebrows. The effect lasts 3-6 months.

Side effects may include mild discomfort during the procedure or mild swelling and redness at the site of injection, lasting 30-60 minutes.

Cellulite
The supporting tissue of the thighs and buttocks  develop in crossing bands. These bands tighten over time and at any age. The bands shrink and the fatty tissue below starts to appear. The effect is a puckered look that appears on the surface of the skin. It is a hereditary problem that occurs more in women than men due to the orientation of the fibrous bands.

Acoustic wave therapy is a safe non-invasive method to reverse the problem. A series of many pulsations are generated and act to loosen the tight bands and allow fatty tissue to return to it’s correct area.

Permanent Hair Reduction
Laser therapy involves focused light energy that can penetrate into a deeper layer of skin where hair follicles are found. The heat generated at specific sites will damage follicles so as not to allow regrowth of individual hairs.
Hair growth is an ongoing process with follicles in active growth and others are in their resting states. The initial treatment will eliminate a majority of hairs. Repeat treatments are necessary to eliminate hairs that will leave a resting state and become active at a later date.

Permanent hair reduction requires 4-6 treatments dependant on hair thickness.
Adjustment in intensity allows for different skin pigmentation.

Laser vein removal
The effect of laser therapy on the skin is dependant upon targeted heat generation by the laser to coagulate melanin (pigment in hair follicles) and hematin (pigment in red blood cells). In the case of spider veins or superficial red and blue veins, the laser causes the veins to permanently collapse and the blood is rerouted to a deeper vein.

The effect is the disappearance of these veins from the skin surface.

Skin Rejuvenation
The surface of the skin is  covered with a layer of dead skin cells that have moved to the skin surface as the cells are replenished.

Natural body mechanisms and often inadequate make-up removal create a caking effect on the skin that can create a dry and uneven skin surface.  Common skin moisturizers are often unable to penetrate this natural barrier.

The combination of chemical peels and microdermabrasion is called a micropeel and will eliminate the most superficial layer of dead skin cells. This allows our medical grade skin products to penetrate beneath the outer layer of skin and hydrate the a deeper skin layer.

This produces a softer and smoother surface to your skin.

Intense pulsed light (ipl) is a method of concentrated light sent through a crystal that creates heat in a pulsed fashion to the  upper layer of skin. An effect  is created that will lift off skin lesions which have pigment.
It is used to remove skin spots with brown and red discoloration.

IPL is also used to improve the appearance of the skin, the texture of the skin and blending of the skin color. Adjustment in intensity of the generated pulsed light allows for  skin pigmentation.
